How to convert PNG to WebP

  1. Add your PNG images

Add PNG files on this page, or choose them from your device. You can add a whole folder's worth at once.

  2. Pick the quality

80% keeps photos looking the same while making files smaller. Lower it for even smaller WebP files. If a file comes out bigger than the original, its row says so.

  3. Download the WebP files

Download each image, or all of them in one ZIP file.

PNG to WebP: questions

How do I convert PNG to WebP?

Convert them in your browser, so nothing is uploaded. On tuul.io/png-to-webp/ you add your PNG images and download the WebP files, one by one or all as a ZIP.

What is the difference between PNG and WebP?

PNG is lossless and supports transparency, which makes it ideal for graphics and screenshots, but photos saved as PNG are large. WebP is Google's web image format. Websites use it because files are small, but many apps, older editors and upload forms still don't accept it.

Are my images uploaded?

No. The conversion runs in your browser, so your images never leave your device.

Is there a limit on how many images I can convert?

No. Everything runs on your device, so the only limit is your device's memory. Hundreds of images at once is fine on a computer.
